War declared, Israel v Palestine...

Yes, just as Hamas, in harmony with its backer Iran, has made it clear that its objective is the elimination of Israel. But they will have to come to terms under international pressure, and a first step would be a return of the hostage by Hamas, and a ceasefire by Israel (and by Hamas). Talks can then proceed, guided by international support by both the West and the Arab countries that want a peaceful settlement rather than continued carnage.
What you said an hour before was "I think the release of the hostages would almost automatically cause Israel to call off its Rafah offensive." What happened? Had you not thought it through or were you being disingenuous?

What happened last time Arabs recognised Israel ?

‘No surprise’: Israeli forces intensify attacks on Gaza despite court order to stop

Reporting from Deir el-Balah, Gaza Strip
It’s not a surprise to see the Israeli military scaling up its attacks across the Gaza Strip at the same time as the court was in session ordering Israel to [implement] a complete cessation of its hostilities and genocidal acts on the ground.
It’s happened before, repeatedly almost. Every resolution, every decision in an international arena is met with public defiance by the Israeli government and the Israeli military on the ground.
Just as day breaks, we have reports of ongoing attacks in the vicinity of the Kuwaiti Hospital, including Shaboura refugee camp, which is where the hospital is located.
Relentless attacks took place overnight on Shaboura refugee camp.
In the early hours of this morning, there is more artillery shelling of [the camp’s] surroundings, which is pushing people into further forced displacement and also preventing ambulance vehicles from the hospital being dispatched to get to areas where there has been a bombing.
Gradually, step by step, another health facility is being pushed out of service as the Israeli military approaches the main roads leading to the Kuwaiti Hospital.
Right now we can safely say that there isn’t a single health facility operational in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

US and UK to back Israel over ICJ ruling

My colleague, Patrick Wintour, who is diplomatic editor for the Guardian, has written an analysis piece on how the US and the UK will reject the international court of justice order directing Israel to end its offensive on Rafah after slowly blurring their red lines that once stated that they could not support a military offensive in the southern Gaza city.

"But the US and the UK are now saying aid is not entering Rafah because of a dispute between Egypt and Israel, placing no greater responsibility on Israel even though it is the occupying power."

[Aid could get in the same way that the tanks get in! They've had months and months to sort out Aid pathways. There are also the crossings in the North that are also closed, which makes that reasoning somewhat redundant]

Fifteen Palestinians detained in West Bank raids

Israeli forces arrested 15 Palestinians in their latest series of incursions throughout the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.
The arrests took place in the governorates of Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jenin, Nablus, Qalqilya, and Hebron.
Since October 7, Israeli forces have made 8,855 arrests in the occupied West Bank as they carry out near daily raids on the territory.

‘Children were playing’ when Jabalia school attacked: witness

Victims of an Israeli attack on a school in Jabalia refugee camp have poured into al-Ahli Hospital, according to footage reviewed by Al Jazeera’s Sanad verification agency.
The attack is now reported to have killed at least 10 people and injured another 17, including children.
“The children were playing in the schoolyard, and suddenly we were bombed,” said one displaced woman whose daughter was injured in the attack. “We lived something unnatural.”

^ that is 8,855 hostages. All should be released when the remaining Israeli hostages are released together with anyone held without charge from before Oct 7. Of course israel can arrest them all again immediately after release.

Anyone wanting to know the full details of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948, I recommend Walid Khalidi's brilliant village-by-village survey. It can be ordered or downloaded using the links below:

No surprise far-right Labour ghoul Ian Austin is on the wrong side of the argument.

Just spent a little while browsing the JC... it makes the Daily Mail seem neutral and level headed. Needs closing down frankly, some inflammatory and dangerous articles in there... and a lot of selective reporting as well as a lot of lies!

Do I need to post the Alexi Sayle "They lie.........and they lie....and they lie.......and they lie.......and they lie....." video again?, or can we just accept that is what they do.

The winning bid was led by Sir Robbie Gibb, a former BBC executive who worked in Downing Street throughout the Brexit negotiation process. It is also backed by a group including former charity commission chairman William Shawcross, ex-Labour MP John Woodcock, and journalist John Ware who made a recent Panorama investigation into allegations of antisemitism in the Labour party.

The zionists that invaded Palestine are not called settlers by accident. It resonates in the subconscious of Americans of their ancestors subjugating the American Indian. The triumph of technology over the wild (terrorist) tomahawk wielding Indian. The superiority of white/ our religion over non-white/your religion. It was a genocide of several million Indians.
Unforgivable but it was a long time ago.
Palestine is now.
