Not tried any of the 75th Anniversary series, though the US ones don’t seem liked at Steve Hoffman’s site (
thread). The current Classic range have the most static charge I’ve ever witnessed on a record based on the two I bought (Speak No Evil, Song For My Father). Almost impossible to get out of the paper inner! After a good squirt with a Zerostat, a wet clean and letting them settle down they are fine now. Nice pressings, I8d happily pay another £5-6 for a non-gatefold tip-on sleeve and a better inner though. It annoys me how they’ve obviously cheaped-out on this range. The titles deserve better than that.
PS I’d certainly de-static, wet clean and let it settle for a bit before deciding it is a total write-off though. Heavy static charge sucks any loose particles from the paper sleeve deep into the groove and it is that which gives the crackle and pop IME. I never play a new record without sorting any charge and wet cleaning it. From that point it lives in a decent inner.
