War declared, Israel v Palestine...

Mossad director Yossi Cohen personally involved in secret plot to pressure Fatou Bensouda to drop Palestine investigation, sources say

The former head of the Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, allegedly threatened a chief prosecutor of the international criminal court in a series of secret meetings in which he tried to pressure her into abandoning a war crimes investigation, the Guardian can reveal.

I think they’ll be out calling this a vile antisemitic blood libel.

Jewish puppet master conspiracy theory ?
Tip of the bloody iceberg.

Just a neo-fascist doing her job, seeding more hate and division; targetting the innocent calling for peace and an end to genocide and mass starvation.

This is what your vote mandates when you vote Labour come the election.

John
Exactly. Sonia Sodha wrote this loathsome piece in the Observer on why it's self-indulgent to consider voting for an alternative to Labour due in part to 'disaffection... over its position on Gaza' - and the inevitable mention of anti-semitism later on. Labour's position here spelt out by Rachel Reeves. Meaning that anyone with the functioning moral compass that Tony talks about might find it difficult to put their tick in the box next to the Labour candidate.

^ Sometimes I think our options in terms of having decent politicians and parties to vote for here in Ireland is limited, but dear goodness, you guys really are up against it.

At least in Scotland we have options, down south they have two flavours of shit

Socialism with a touch of genocide, or is it the other way round ?

It is astonishing. Possibly the most antisemitic thing one can possibly do in the current climate is to conflate Jewish communities across the world with the far-right apartheid butchery and war crimes of the state of Israel. Yet both the Tories and Labour are exactly the type of racists who would do that. Racism at an institutional level. At a policy level. It is absolutely disgusting and I’d be curious to see if decent peace-loving Jewish groups had any legal recourse under human rights or other legislation. It is pure racism to my eyes.

Now, what was so hard about that...

Denmark university to halt investment in companies operating in Israeli settlements

The University of Copenhagen has said it would divest of companies that do business in the occupied West Bank amid student protests pressuring the campus to cut financial and institutional ties with Israel.
Hundreds of students began campus protests in early May to express their opposition to Israel’s war on Gaza. The students have demanded that the university cut academic ties with Israel and divest from companies operating in occupied Palestinian territory.
The university will, as of May 29, divest its holdings worth a total of about $145,810 in Airbnb, Booking.com and eDreams, it said in a post on X.
The university said it would work with fund managers to manage its investments and ensure they comply with a United Nations list of companies involved in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

New Israeli air attacks on displaced Palestinians in Rafah kill 21, wound dozens

The air raid targeted al-Mawasi in western Rafah, an area where tents have been set up to house displaced Palestinians.
It is also a designated humanitarian area to which Israeli authorities told Palestinians to flee.
“Among them are 13 females were killed. Israeli forces targeted another makeshift tent [area] where most of the people were women and children,” Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary said, reporting from Deir el-Balah.
“There are no hospitals in Rafah. All the injured and the dead bodies have been transferred to the International Medical Corps filed hospital. There are no ambulances.”
“It’s catastrophic and horrifying being injured and not being able to get transferred from one place to another because of lack of fuel. For more than three weeks now, nothing has entered the Gaza Strip,” she said.

Trinity College Dublin have agreed to divest themselves of Israeli investments after first trying to fine students over €200k for blockading access to the Book of Kells as part of a protest, before backing down. (As a friend of mine might say - Read the Room first guys :) )

University College Limerick have also followed suit in distancing themselves from Israeli investments, and also announced a Sanctuary Scholarship fund to assist persecuted / at risk scholars from around the world, including Palestine:

In support of this role, our University of Sanctuary Scholarship is now open for applications until the end of May and our UL's Scholars at Risk Programme is a fund to enable persecuted or otherwise threatened scholars to continue their academic work. Established in association with Scholars at Risk Ireland, this is part of an international network striving to defend the human rights of scholars around the world.

My view is Israel is currently where South Africa was under PW Botha. A dead and obsolete structure that has no place in modern reality without total reform. It is speed-running its own decline by embarking on the most cruel racist brutality on a captive population imaginable. I doubt it will be recognisable in 10 years time.

South Africa never had the fundamentalist zeal a lot of the Israeli right wing have, its very difficult to go against the flow in a country, hell in Labour its almost impossible and would love to know what kompromat was being used it can't be just money, propaganda goes a long way and for most people the easiest thing is to feel uncomfortable and muddle on. I guess the really smart and moral will leave and the country will slowly descend into an even more despotic corrupt regime armed with nuclear weapons, the North Korea of the middle east.

Mr Kirby was also responding to questions about an Israeli air strike and a resulting fire on Sunday that killed at least 45 Palestinians at a tented camp for displaced people.
Israel says it believes the fire could have been caused by the explosion of weapons stored by Hamas

They lie, and they lie, and they lie, and they lie...

(and yet our press still prints this shit). Ugh.

Nothing will change USAUK corrupt politicians position on Palestine. Years of propaganda and money in their pocket (USA politicians vote for $billions to Israel, and Israel gives a a few mill back to them: neat eh ?). And they are, rightly, scared of what Israel/AIPAC etc will do to them if they step out of line.
In 2023 zionists got all their ducks in a row in USA/UK/Germany. Stepped up the murder of Palestinians and stealing land until they got the Oct 7 reaction they wanted. This was all planned.
