What is your current system? part II

Exposure 3010s CD
Exposure 3010s Amp
Dynaudio Focus 110 Speakers
Exposure speaker cable and Musical Blue interconnect

Next step is to buy a decent turntable and I'm thinking of something like Rega, Scheu, Michell or NAS. Need to have a listen to all of these options in near future.

New amp has just been fired up...thought it might be fun to see how far I can take my system away from how it sounded with the Puresound. Reckoned this may well be the polar opposite...

Doesn't sound quite how I thought it would tbh.

(72/180 btw).

My SP 25 used to stack records like that as well

Acoustic Signature Challenger/Audio origami'd RB250 with tecnoweight/Ortofon Rondo Bronze
Exposure Super XV
Meier Audio HA-1/Sennheiser HD600's
Audio Alchemy DDE 1.1 / Macbook (Connected to living room telly via s-video)
Creek T40
Linn Kan 1's on Kan II stands
NVA LS1 speaker cable
Various (old) custom chord co. interconnects
All on target stands.

Wish list? Maybe a REL T3 subwoofer, but otherwise very happy.

my first post:

MFs KW250s with neat momentum 3i speakers and ecosse MS2.3 Ref cables.

did have until recently: atc int.amp, micromega stage 6 cdp, linn axis deck, sugden stage 2 phono amp, trichord powerblock 500 & pmc tb1s spks stereovox cables.

my new setup is a vast improvement in every respect.....

i have tried:

naim
rega
meridian
audiolab
alburry
micromega
atc
sumo
bryston
cyrus
linn
monitor audio
proac
pmc
neat
chord
stereovox
silver arrow
VDH
ixos
ecosse

so i have tried a few.....

Linn Sara speakers-XLR Type
Linn Klout power Amp.
Roksan Kandy mk3 intergrated amp (as the pre?
Michell Syncro Turntable with rega RB300 and shure V15 Type 111 cart.
Sonnetter Byron CD player-With Merlin Elgar interconnects.

Blimey - not sure how the Roksan sounds with the K;lout - but I did something similar when I first got Saras many years ago. I had an Audiolab 8000A integrated which struggled with the speakers so I added a LK280 and used Audiolab as a pre amp. Eventually bought a Wakonda pre-amp but can't say it blew the Audiolab away...

Sounds good. But it's a weird set up.

current system in SIG

lying around in the cupboard not being used

MF elecktra E600 CD player gloss black, remote, lots of outputs, sounds too soft.
MF 'missing link' tube buffer occasionally goes between CD / pre or pre /power
-I have a thing for not putting extra things in signal path so usually just sits there
Exposure 2010 Power amp, replaced by Hypex HG modules
Arcam DV88, doesn't play DivX or has HDMI, replaced by a £60 tosh, Her indoors not a film buff.. :(
build a media PC anyway
Yamaha remote control HX cassette deck in loft - really good.

Linn Basik - 1st TT woo

the Dino in use has it's diodes upgraded

(CD, Pre, 2 x monoblocks)

also have a low strand count multicore 35A twin copper shielded copper cable, MK tough plug to shurter - need to make another one (or 3), excellent noise floor on these.

IC's Missing link Aqua off the reel, Neutrik plugs (CD->pre & dino->Pre)
4N solid silver, teflon/air insulated pre to monos

various Tandy special, Cable talk 'the ref' Ixos and Cable talk 'it's Orange' lying around

using VDH snowtrack at the moment.

every cable is Silver over copper or just silver
deoxit gold purchased when Kontak evaperated

really must put the TT shelf up now a little one is about to be running around,

think the weak spots are

tonearm
speaker cable
being stuck upstairs because SWMBO doesn't like speakers in the living room, or cables,
-you can see why I don't play DVD's anymore - doesn't like subs either... grrr.

sorry for length..

The amp journey came to a conclusion, and so now it's time for the turntable odyssey to reach the end of its current road...

Pioneer PL-71 - for something to sound this good for just 82 quid off eBay is hilarious. I just love it - music pours out of this thing as though its life depended on it.

Now updated:

Stereo.jpg

- Squeezebox+ (basically a Squeezebox 3 on steroids with better PSU, clocks and a much improved DAC section)
- Bel Canto Evo2i digital stereo integrated amplifier. Don't ask me to explain how it works, I have no idea, but it sounds awesome. The only amps that have impressed me more have been seriously expensive valve amps (e.g. WAVAC).
- Impulse Ta'us horn loaded 3 way speakers
- Stillpoints under the amp and SB+ control unit
- Cables are from Coherent Systems, you wouldn't believe how much difference the power cables made.

The Squeezebox+ addresses my PC via a Netgear RF router. I have my whole CD collection cut to FLAC using EAC. It's also fully backed up to a second independant drive.
The electronics are sat on an Ikea lack stand, with a high density anti vibration system under the SB+ boxes (Argos granite chopping boards).
