Is the DaCapo the battery powered PT dac?
Its the dacapo II - completely different to the old dacapo I had and much better. Its a cdp for a start and not a dac. It was produced when PT restarted without Arthur.
Nope - I am doing without a preamp at all. The dac has a digital volume control and I am using a passive pot with the TEAD MG+ until I can get a phono with an integral volume control - or can get one made. I might try the new brinkmann, ps audio or a custom J&R build based on the 3150. I tried the dacapo with and without the TVC and it was a huge leap forward without.

Also, tucked away somewhere, VPI Aries Scout, Quad34 & 606 (both avondale'd) and avondale AA5CD, ATC SCM10 - lovely speaker - if only the 250 could drive them properly!
also a complete set of spare cards for the 72 - this forum has got me itching to try a bit of bodging!

Just got myself one of these today - popped up to Sheffield to nab it off Alex...
Will be doing a KEL84 v A30 shoot-out over the next few days. First impressions of the A30 are very favourable, although the WAD has a certain magic (especially for the money) which'll take some beating.

To start this new year I am posting my actual system:
Meridian 101 (Pre + Power amp + PSU + radio) (Stock version)
Ariston RD 80 with SME 3009 (light version) and a Benz Micro Ace (medium output). Cables are VDH
Marantz CD 53 SE highly modded by myself (Thanks Ray, Brent, Simon, André, Mathieu, Glenn and all others that contributed to this modding). Cables are Nordost flat.
The speakers are modded B&O with special internal treatment, cabling, bass drivers and output plugs. Cables by Kimber.
Hope someone is interested.
