I know what you mean, maybe how you feel too, but...A holiday is something I need to get around to at some point, I've never managed one.
They're a bit awkward on your own and I don't have the confidence to pull it off.
My mum used to holiday alone well into her late '80's, isn't a very outgoing person but she always made friends and had people to talk to. For decades she used to travel around Spain alone (even went to Russia, America and China alone) and never had any problems, just good holidays and plenty of memories.
I don't like eating out alone, haven't had many holidays on my own, but it's not hard to find a friendly face if you want conversation, but if not then a book, a camera or even a phone (I'm on my own in a restaurant right now) and it suddenly feels OK.
It would be a shame not to get away and enjoy some of what the world has to offer, I hope you can.
