That's some mess Dec. Congratulations :D

Is that Wilson Benesch speaker stands I see?

PS: that rug really ties the mess together.
…you should have seen it when I had a 20 year old Flymo cable to one speaker and who knows what to the other
Terrible fess up to make after my hissy fit on the Melco thread. The Melco wouldn’t play because I had the usb cable stuck in the Ethernet port of the Devialet.

Hugh, Free to a good home, I have a spare Tactic driver cluttering up the place I can send you as a spare should it be needed.
I had a pair of Trinity's and over-enthusiastic use set one of them a' rattling.
Changing one driver I decided to get a matched pair fitted so have one good one here.

New office system since started my new permanently from home job. Using my old CA A3i with an ex demo bluesound node 2i I got for a steal and some new Quad S1. Spotify is just dandy for me on this. <1k total

It's just gorgeous although in some areas sitting 1m away almost feels like cheating.

I've always wanted to do this to my X Ty[e, but worried I'd mess it up!

New system in the Car

2008 Jaguar XType

I now have an up to date Sat Nav which is rather lovely

and CarPlay

it sounds rather good.

Though it was not without it’s problems and I do now have glove compartment full of cables, and little boxes with flashing lights.

You can send head unit and CD player off to be converted, which just leaves you plug wires to differ boxes. My glove box now full of cables and stuff, no much room left for gloves or anything else, but I love being able to stream stuff from my iPhone and having an up to date sat nav

You can also connect a reversing camera, which is my next job.

PM me if you want details

Very kind Colin. Will PM you!

This is my 'home office' setup; Quad 10L speakers and Quad Vena II (which is currently sitting on a former diy speaker stand next to the desk as it's a little too deep for the shelves).

BTW If anyone knows a company in the SW who may be able to repair the tilt mechanism on the Knoll (Richard Sapper) chair then let me know - I've drawn a blank so far.

There's a number of tutorials dealing with repair of tilt on Knoll office chairs generally on YouTube; perhaps not the exact one you've got, but it's perfectly feasible for them to have shared the mechanism across different styles....

Thanks for the tip, I shall have a look. I have googled extensively but only for this specific model. I have found a new compatible 3rd party base but it would be nice to retain the original one if possible. Knoll and a couple of vintage repair specialists have said they can't help, unfortunately.

After my Quad 33 had its latest fault last week (won’t play LPs in stereo), I went back to my Quad 34 for a few days. Thing is, I really prefer the 33 (although there’s nothing wrong with the 34) but it’s getting a bit flakey and sadly doesn’t seem like a good longterm choice for preamp duties, although the 303 has been faultless all round. I tried a Leak 20 with passive recently which was very nice but I felt really comfortable with the 33/303 pair. Tonight I’ve put in my Graham Slee Accession M and NAD C316BEE just to have a change whilst I decide what to do.

It’s making me think of having a (near) complete system overhaul. I put an wanted ad out for a Croft Phono Integrated which I really liked last year, so maybe that will turn up. I’m also thinking of either some kind of vintage turntable again - 301/401, 124, Lenco - or modding my 1200G to try SPUs. I could keep my 1200G and get a heavy arm put on it but am open to options eg. the Lenco-based PTP Solid12 with Schick 12” arm looks interesting. So my amps and turntable are all up in the air again. One thing I know is, the Falcon LS3/5a are staying put.

(The Freddie Hubbard LP was a Christmas present from my sister this year)

To me, both the Quad 33 and 303 are good long term options with plenty of new and refurbished spare parts to keep them singing for ever. I'm not a fan but this combo has a unique sound signature, can be very addictive and still very good for the very long listening sessions.

Here is a good place to find some parts to keep them alive :
