When you have new mantelpieces, flaunt them.

Bom buddha bom. Taxi!

Ideally the lingo which is effectively a highish voltage generator should be sited as far from the turntable and preamp as possible.

Not sat right on top of it.

Ideally everyone would have their own hifi room, which was setup perfectly with the right amount of oxygen levels and rack components, plus it would be really good if we could achieve world peace... but reality is everyone has limitations, whether it is financial, or environmental, or whatever, so why do people feel the need to pick up on something as mundane and ridiculous as this?

If you had ever heard how compromising poor equipment placement can be you would not think it mundane and ridiculous to point it out.

Oxygen is a terrible environment for hifi, if for no other reason than corrosion of vital components and connections. Ideally one's listening room would be flushed of oxygen and be an entirely nitrogen environment.

I agree with your first point, as there is a compromise, but I don’t think it’s fair to point out something that the owner may/probably already knows.

It is mundane and ridiculous to pick up on it and is just willy waving games.
