I own Accuphase, but the Mola Mola Kula has also piqued my interest. However it is a lot of money for a product from a relatively niche company where it's unclear where they are going to be in 10 years, even just with something like their design.
With a company like Accuphase, I am pretty sure...
Thx for the replies so far.
What I find interesting is that the 2804 really seems to stick out regarding its electrical properties, compared to e.g. the 3103 and 3104, which seem to be more current and comparable to other offerings.
Seems to be a Greek outfit - I have just discovered that they offer the elusive Mogami Neglex 2803 and 2804 cables (see my other thread), the former with terminated WBT plugs. And both types of cables seem to be non-trivial to terminate.
Anyone dealt with them? If so what was the experience?
Anyone with experience with these cables?
I find them rather intriguing, based on their history here:
https://mogamicable.com/pdf/Mogami_Tech_cat2014.pdf (see Historical Review, page 70 & 71)
They were always tricky to track down but I have found a source (see my other thread), but does...
Not a rega owner, but I always wondered if something could be gained by removing the tone arm cable clamp on the underside of the rega decks - obviously this only works if you use the wall mount and don't have small kids.
My reasoning is that it might not be good if you press a microphonic...
Dear all,
so it finally happened, I can no longer start up my Lightroom 5 on my Mac. I knew this day would come, and it seems there is no way around it than to move to either Lightroom Cloud or Lightroom Classic.
Problem is, while I don't necessarily have a problem with the subscription model...
Which Harbeths are you referring to, when comparing to your 805 D4?
For a bit of context, like you I regarded B&W as the anti-christ in the past but now own a pair of 804 D3. And I also used to own two pairs of Harbeths, C7 and P3 - certainly two very different speaker brands!
I own 804 D3s - yes it is certainly not a dark or muffled sounding speaker. And yes, the treble can get a little bit hot with certain recordings, though I notice it with digital more than with vinyl, for which I find them rather complimentary. And vinyl is what I am optimising my rig for these...
I am assuming it's the usual MDF.
I am also assuming that for the Confidence speakers, they most definitely are not using wood screws (at least I am clinging on to that hope).
Just came across this:
Source: https://www.monoandstereo.com/?p=29309
As you can see, this is a wood screw they (Dynaudio) is using to fasten the bass drivers on their 10'000 EUR Focus 50 speakers - or am I seeing this wrong?
I would have expected that for a speaker at this price point (and...
I am assuming that's the DC-37, and therefore the cable is the brown one?
I also have a DC-37 and use the brown cable, the C-2120 I own came with a blue cable. I since bought some brown cables second hand for a good price for the rest of system. (all with RCA plugs)
My findings & comments:
I...
Nice one, Mr. Suffolk.
I do have fond memories of when I fed my Accuphase Pre into active ATC 100s, but then by a lucky coincidence an A-47 came my way and that set in motion a series of events...
I could well imagine that one of Accuphase's Class AB would have been a better pairing with the...
Reminds me of when I had an Onkyo DAB+ tuner that I connected to my pre via its analog outputs, but also connected its digital output to my Accuphase DAC (via TOSLINK).
One evening I thought that my Accuphase DAC really made DAB+ sound glorious and after checking realising that I have been...
Interesting developments from accuphase, with the new C-2300 replacing the 2150 and the 2450, and supposedly being better than both:
https://www.accuphase.com/model/c-2300.html
Check out the 4-band tone controls! Shame it doesn't have the wooden sides of the 2450, seems like a missed...
