The Tannoys look like a church PA system. Or like a priest should be standing behind them delivering a sermon. Maybe it’s British taste. I think ATCs look far better in a shared space/living room.'Hoopsontoast' - It's gotta be said, the Tannoy's look like 'real' hifi, the ATC's don't, sorry.

Yeah it's a personal preference. I much prefer the simple cabinets like Eatons or Devons (?) compared to the fluted corners and gold plaques of the big Tannoys. Praise be.There's a touch of the 'brown furniture' to the Tannoys perhaps but I think they look absolutely great! They're unashamedly what they are just as much as big blue-face JBLs.
One end of the room, how it was...

And with a new stand (Thanks @ks.234 ), giving the SCM10s a run out for a while...
New to me stand, means I can finally unpack the S9000ES, the longest item I've owned at 9-years now, which is good for me!
And a throwback to 2014/15 when I had my previous pair of Tannoy Stirling HE and SCM10s, once again with the S9000ES and a different Bryston B60R.
Sorry I missed your reply. The Melco was a significant step up in sound quality to the Mac, the Melco is a lot cleaner electronically which I assume assists with this. Most noticeable is the separation between instruments and how quiet the background can be between instruments. I hadn't really noticed quite how noisy the Mac was until I heard the Melco. If you're interested in one I think there a lots of demo units at they dealers.
The SCM10s are smoother in the treble and I think better mid-range. The Tannoys will obviously do bass depth and volume better but with more midrange colouration, possibly down to the cabinets. The room is not massive, 17ft x 10ft so the bass of the SCM10s is less of an issue, I've always would rather quality of quantity...Such a contrast - can you describe the differences in presenation of the two speakesr in your room (and which is 'best')?
How cool is that? If I had a special speaker named after me, I'd call it the Dazzler!!

I think you need to change permissions to make it public...
“Why are there two brown fridges in the living room?” asked my wife when I unveiled the Berkeleys. There's a touch of the 'brown furniture' to the Tannoys perhaps but I think they look absolutely great! They're unashamedly what they are just as much as big blue-face JBLs.
