It makes absolutely no sense literally but it really does mean mind your own business. There are other expressions like occupe-toi de tes oignons, but to me it sounds dated.

I think De quoi je me mêle? is quite aggressive, forceful. Less so is ça ne te regarde pas. But I could be very wrong about the tone of these things.
