Avatars

I don't like them.

Whilst fun and interesting to see aspects of each other's individualism, to my eyes avatars make the site looks untidy, cluttered and harder to read.
Your burberry reindeer looks pretty pissed off about it too.

Since I've never used 'social meedja' I have no idea how I'd create and deploy an 'avatar' pic. I guess I qualify for 'grandad' status that eveyone else takes this for granted. :->

Easy peasy, even for me (who don't do Facetoob or anything like). Log in, click on your name (top right hand corner), click 'Avatar' from the drop down list, select a source for your required image, click 'okay', and you're done.

Jobsagoodun, as they say.

Mr Moose, is now using these

.discussionListItem .posterAvatar .avatarContainer {
visibility: hidden;
}

.messageUserBlock div.avatarHolder {
visibility: hidden;
}

a lot of the avatars are an incomprehensible mess, especially at the small/regular resolution. like a terrible cluttered photograph. very sad.

vuk.

I've just realised what a huge distraction avatars are.

The weird thing is I'm a member of other forums where they are well established, and I've hardly noticed them.

NO DISAGREE I.

Fascinating, a silicon-based life form — or possibly a cheese bun.

Fine looking dawg you got there. I hope it is competent in cat pursuit.
