Today I have mainly been v3

Because of my condition I am now fast tracked through everything.
The CT scan on my chest that was applied for yesterday is already booked for tomorrow morning but more worrying is that I got called out of the blue around 10.00am by the MRI department saying the cancer team had requested an urgent scan on my left femur - so presumably the x-rays they took yesterday showed something nasty.
They have booked me in to have the MRI scan straight after the CT scan.
Very best of luck, here's hoping it's not serious and the outcome is good.

After being told I have sarcoma cancer in my abdomen area by my doctor the week before last I was nervously waiting for the next stages of my diagnosis.
Well I had the MRI scan and the specialist appointment this morning at Northampton General.
The MRI will be fully assessed by another team but the consultant showed me images on her screen and tried to show me what is going on. There is a very large mass:eek: (her words) just above and to the left of my bladder. It’s pushing the bladder which explains why I keep needing to urinate. She did say that it was very well defined which was hopefully a positive regarding any future surgery.

She was also concerned about a dark area near the top of my left femur - sarcoma can develop in the bones as well.
So I had to have three x-rays on it from different angles this morning but won’t know the results for a while. Also had a chest x-ray and a special blood test, and she wants another ct scan of my chest which I have to wait for an appointment for - hopefully not 10 weeks like the last one.

She said all the scans, x-rays, blood results etc will be looked at by a special team of experts from Northampton, Leicester and Nottingham hospitals to determine exactly what it is and the plan of action. Then it most likely will be a biopsy at Leicester and surgery at Nottingham.

Will feel like a lab rat by the end of it all.

Only just seen this Paul, wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

The Wife is out distributing Labour party leaflets.

We had eldest G-Kid over yesterday. She is in to the band TV Girl at the moment. I am glad that she is actively seeking music.
Spent ages talking about books and we all played Scrabble - first proper game of Scrabble with the Granddaughter. The game lasted nearly two hours as we kept looking word meanings up. Various dictionaries and dedicated Scrabble books were also used. The Girl likes the game, and for her first go she did well. The Wife won the game…

Wife and G-Kid made ultra chocolate Brownies, but they were too chocolaty for me, even a very small piece was too sweet. After eating a fair amount, everyone agreed and the failed Brownies went in the bin. Wife blamed the recipe, which wasn’t her usual one. I kept my mouth shut for a change.

Moping around with lower back pain, had just ridden 30 miles with some pretty good climbs, was fine, then back home, bent over with a twisting motion to move my shoes and there went my lower back... aargh, hate getting old! I know it will now be bad for a couple of weeks.

I have this all the time. Mine gets better and then just getting out of a chair sets it off again. My shoulder is the same too, I think it’s better and then bang, back to square one. I can’t kneel down anymore because my kneecap hurts too much. I’m 55, I’ll be f**ked by 75 I think.

Cheers BB

Sorry to hear this Paul. The very best of luck with it all.

Three months ago I was referred for a CT scan to investigate my breathlessness problems. I got a call yesterday from the hospital asking if I was available today at 8.15 as they had a cancellation. Of course I said I would be coming.

It only took 5 minutes, so hopefully in the next couple of weeks the consultant, who I haven't met yet, will be able to combine this with the breathing tests done a month ago and provide me with a diagnosis.

Colouring-in at a furious rate across several pieces of work to get to ...four days to enjoy, say, the pile of books waiting to be read, and the tools-in-hand time to recommission my Fisher Fury... the new music to listen -to. Oh, lots of good stuff.

But right now: Gin o'clock.

Production meeting this morning, Then Bury market for Easter lamb. Pick the boy up from his last day at his current school then a short run. Been lax recently, repeated virus’s have taken their toll. Making tea soon, about to follow Martin’s lead and declare it gin o‘clock.

More 'This Week' than Today.. For a change, only one medical appt.. on Monday, to discuss adding Dapa- summatorother, to my ever increasing meds list. Not my usual HF nurse and not keen on this one. Seems a 'cold fish'. Seems I'm back on the list of my previous Cardiologist, who struck me as fine, but who a neighbour has refused to see again. We'll see..
Tuesday the boss was out and I did loads of housework..then..being on a roll..decided to lay a couple of 2'x2' pavers in back garden. Started re-laying those in 2020 then the knees gave up and job got left. Despite lots of thought, a 'proper' mortar mix etc.. it didn't go well, but eventually got two pavers in the right place and level..ish.
Wednesday, unsurprisingly, wiped out. Did nothing but a bit of a stroll around B&Q checking a few products and prices.
Thurs, just a wander down to the shops to get some air....and wine..
Nice day today, so maybe lay just the one paver..(only 10 to go...) and cut the grass.

manning the car park for the various local churches walk down the high street with a big cross for easter . met so many folks walking by , always great to talk to so many folks from all over the world as they walk by . of course a sunny day helps

Nice trip into Manchester, lunch at the Greek in the Arndale Market. Home and a roof down trip out in the car to a nearby beer garden. A quick pint then home. Fire lit now and heating off. Seems to be beer o’clock again…

Great to hear. The organisation of cancer services has got so much better in the last 25 years. It’s frightening waiting to hear what’s happening or indeed if anything is happening but the cogs turn in the background and your consultant will act when they have all the pieces of the jigsaw, they will have consulted other experts in pathology, radiology and surgery by the time they meet you and tell you what the treatment plan is.

Mrs BB has gone to London with my 2 daughters and our niece, who’s just turned 18. Cocktails and then dinner. Son #2 is staying at his girlfriends, so for the first time in years I’ve got the house to myself. Afternoon of British Superbikes and now spinning some vinyl. No beer as I’m collecting them form the station but thoroughly enjoyable.

Cheers BB
