I have very fond memories of Shackletons flying over Moray, first from Kinloss and latterly from Lossiemouth.
The Lossie circuit had them changing propeller pitch in preparation for landing as they crossed over our farm. A glorious sound of 4 Griffons and 8 propellers we will never hear again.
When the Shackletons were bowing out Lossiemouth had an open day. I took along my Minox GT35 but sadly the shutter played up and the resulting roll of film was blank.
The working space in the Shack was very cramped and must have been very noisy.[/QUOTE]
