Sir Paul Marshall, the hedge fund tycoon, has enlisted investment bankers to aid a prospective bid for The Daily Telegraph.

Sky News has learnt that Sir Paul, the co-founder of Marshall Wace and a big shareholder in the right-wing television news service GB News, has hired Moelis to advise him on the newspaper's impending auction.

The "Eye" are going to have a field day with this one.
 
Perhaps they are feeling the heat of the 12 or so separate investigations that ofcom has opened into the channel. Ah well.
 
The Dame (she sits in the upper chamber) in charge of OFCOM was on a news program showing just how useless all these OF***** things are. "It is a news channel in name only" , "We don't want to force them onto the internet as we cannot sanction them" I have news for her........ you do NOTHING to hold GB News to account!
 
She's just doing her job, what she's paid to do; not holding GBNews to account. As such, I would argue all these OF***** are not useless but highly effective.

Dame Melanie Dawes is not a Member of the House of Lords. Confusing Dame with Baroness, its the female equivalent of Sir.

That seems like recognition that Ofcom’s previous position - that GB News was a news channel and should be given the same latitude as other news channels - was mistaken. That’s progress.

And the other point is surely to give Ofcom powers to regulate online channels too. I think the Online Safety bill (now Act) does this?

It is an astonishing report, as is all the journalism Byline Times is bringing to this topic. The thing to keep in mind with all of it is so many high-profile Tory MPs are perfectly at ease in this company and happy to take money from this organisation to serve up their far-right misinformation and propaganda; Rees Mogg, Anderson, McVey, Davies and I’m sure several others perfectly happy in the company of sex offenders, liars, cat-fishers, conspiracy theorists, religious extremists, racists, nationalists and bigots. GB News is the modern Conservative Party. This filth is who they are.
