Festival of Brexit, 2022 -it’s a thing. Exciting as a man with a firework up his arse.

More crystal balls. Respect.

Instead of a snide comment, perhaps you'd like to say which bits you disagree with?

Will people actually see a major change on Feb 1st? We will be in the transition period. For most of us, nothing will change on that day, nor for the rest of the year.

Will Javid not try inject capital into the economy when JIT and Passporting comes to an abrupt end at the end of the TP? The Government has already shown they're happy to bail out private companies.

As for the BoE, interest rates and QE—they did it to shore up the economy after the vote, so it's not a huge leap to see them doing it again, especially as a cut is already on the cards.

Never mind. I'm sure BoJo will have a fantastic bespoke deal in place by the end of December 31st 2020 that will make the poor better off, heal our divisions, boost the economy and increase our respect and influence on the world stage...

...not.

Bing a bong a Brexit
Bung a bob and bong Big Ben
But mind it’s the right letter box
And watch for women dressed like bank robbers
And picaninnie watermelon smilers
Or tank topped bum boys
All wanting to get their hands on your bob.

The organisers of a £120m national festival to be staged in 2022 have put out a call for creative minds to come up with "daring, new and popular" ideas to bring the UK together after Brexit.

The event, dubbed the Festival of Brexit when it was announced by then-prime minister Theresa May in 2018, now has the working title Festival UK 2022.

Chief creative officer Martin Green is looking for "big ideas" that can help heal the divisions surrounding the UK's departure from the EU, and showcase British creativity to the world.

What are the odds that there will be a spitfire on display somewhere in this toe curlingly awful display of misplaced nationalism ?!

Won't the Dome be busy as a Nightingale Mortuary during the continuing pandemic?

Yes, so it will be the perfect venue to celebrate Brexit.

My own Big Idea: invite all Brexit voters to attend. Each will be slapped in the face with a wet fish as a tribute to their heroic fight to make fish British again. They will then be asked to reveal the ways in which Brexit has made life better for them.

Ironic that this Brexit festival is now intended to celebrate the UK, a concept that Brexit has put on the endangered list.

There’s coverage on Newsnight. Positioned as a post-Covid celebration now. I can see Gavin Williamson or Grant Shapps being given a leadership role.
