It will soon be a case of which country hasn't banned travel from the UK. The government has panicked the world with stuff like this* https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19...y-have-coronavirus-matt-hancock-says-12168124

Still, never mind. What's that glinting in the distance**? Is it the sunlit uplands? o_O https://twitter.com/nazirafzal/status/1340599673762004994

* What's the betting that they later admit that the new mutant Kent strain was caused by mistakenly testing a misplaced bottle of Kentish p**s?
** Probably another bottle of p**s.

France is also banning lorry drivers from entering. Brexit island becoming a reality. What was it that Raab said about the Dover-Calais route?

The Government is f**cking up everything on a biblical scale. Johnson will, of course, not act in time to mitigate this crisis and will, equally of course, make the wrong decision.

Eurotunnel also shutting down all travel from the UK for at least two days https://twitter.com/LeShuttle/status/1340750148465532931

On top of the disruption of Brexit coming on 31 December (possibly massive disruption if it's 'no deal'), this is now a grave crisis. Good job we don't have an incompetent charlatan as Prime Minister leading a Cabinet of fools. At least we can be thankful for that...

It appears they had no idea and didn't even consider, when Hancock was touring the TV studios and telling the world that a new mutant strain was "out of control", that this would happen. https://twitter.com/BBCSimonJack/status/1340752328769626112

Freight crisis. France blocks lorry movements from UK for 48 hrs due to new COVID strain alarm. Government caught off guard by this. Ministers and officials just beginning to assess the situation. DFT in charge tonight but will be a Cabinet Office convened meeting tomorrow am..1/
...Usual volume through Dover alone is 9-10,000 lorries a day going in both directions although often slower on a Sunday. Haulage industry chief tells me “Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse – disaster on top of disaster - I fear for supermarket supply chains...2/[/URL]

I really don’t mind what you post about me, I understand it helps your confidence and keeps you feeling a part of things.

Agree I really don't mind what you post about me either, I understand it helps your confidence and keeps you feeling a part of things. I also realize that this is as deep as you go when discussing topics and where you are happiest.

Johnson to hold a COBRA meeting... tomorrow. Maybe. If he gets up in time. And if he is happy his hair is ruffled enough.

Immediate action was needed straight away today, but Johnson is as Johnson does.

As I said, after delaying, the next step will be that he will make the wrong decision tomorrow. Then maybe do a U-turn next week when things turn desperate and it's too late.

Wonder if this will force Hancock to resign, can see some Tories blaming his comments for the airport and port chaos in the coming days.
