My wife Joanne died suddenly and traumatically aged just 55 last May.
I chose The Beatles "The Long and Winding Road" as the final music at her funeral. This song will never fail to bring me to tears. As will the song "Joanne" by Lady Gaga.
I couldn't remember Nimrod (I'm very much a fair weather classical fan - love it when I hear it, but only bring out a CD once a year). My word! Nimrod (now I recognise it of course) got me choked up within seconds - how can music do that - and I' m watching youtube on a tablet! I guess that's the magic that keeps us in this hobby
Any recommended CDs (or hybrid SACD) with Nimrod on?
Not my usual cup of tea but the Dutch band HAEVN - The Sea. I heard it being played at a hifi show and bought it that day from Amazon. It's also arguably the best sounding piece of vinyl I own.
