What a start to the cycling season - both good and bad.
The bad - some terrible crashes. Amy Pieters still in a coma after several months. Egan Bernal and Milan Vader both hospitalized and out for who knows how long, and now Julian Alaphilippe hospitalized and again out for an unknown period. And then there's Sonny Colbrelli having a heart attack after a sprint finish - poor guy - after a tremendous 2021 season.
The good - some tremendous racing, particularly in the one day classics. After initially looking like Jumbo Visma might win everything going it's been great to see the victories shared by many teams. It would have been great if Simon Yates could have taken an overall victory on the final stage of Paris-Nice - and he would have had Roglic not been hauled to the finish by Van Aert.
I can't remember any more details right now, but thought the season deserved a thread. Who will will the TdF this year ? Jumbo Visma have a very strong team, and Ineos are strong on paper, but will Pogacar overcome them all again ?
