It's hard for the very top teams to bring through talent when the pressure is always on to deliver now. Fans love the idea of homegrown players but ask them if they'd trade being patient & not being at the top while the club beds in 5 or 6 kids or winning another title & you know what the answer will be. Both!

So the Arsenal approach is valid after all. Otherwise it is just sugar daddy rabid capitalism. No-one (esp your modern day socialists) ever questions the morality of modern day football. Money as ever does the talking.

Let's hear it for Harry Vain, Gareth !

The Italians have beaten The Under 21 England team 3 - 1.

Gareth's boys had a crap defense and weak, inaccurate strikers.

Could it get worse?

Yeah, they finished at the bottom of their group.

At least the women are doing well. Maybe we should have used them instead.

I would never complain about money being in football. Where do you want it to be? It is in tennis and golf too, motor racing et all.
Dennis Law and John Charles went to Italy for money. Players come here for it now and our best stay here. All good and I will keep watching. It is as good as it has ever been and I loved the past as well.
Did Celtic not spend more than any other Club in Scotland last year? That is how they win titles. Why complain?
Hey Gas.......you are sounding like my old man. You'll be wanting to build more Council Houses than Private ones next :D

Unlike Ranjurs who spend nearly as much, but can't even get into the Scottish Premier League :D

PS Your old man sounds very wise indeed.

So true.

I am a Liverpool supporter born and bred. On the RAWK forum I'm an occasional poster and enjoy the banter. The forum frequently has other teams fans posting and where they are respectful and engage in reasonable discussion and debate they are welcomed.

There are several posting Arsenal fans but unsurprisingly there has never been a Chelsea fan that lasted more than two posts. It seems to a man, Chelsea fans I have met in real life, or on forums, are classless, cocky and utterly obnoxious. Maybe they are seeking to emulate their manager?

Arsenal aren't exactly short of a few bob though are they? Sanchez & Ozil weren't bargain basement signings.

I don't get this about all the money in today's game
Football up to the sixties, attendances could hit 60+thousand, all paying a bob each and the players
getting 10bob a week, where did the rest go?

Chelsea have offered £11 Million a year to use Wembley Stadium from 2017 to 2020, while Roman has our cathedral of football built at Stamford Bridge.

This is £3 Million more than Spurs, but nobody really gives a f*** about them, as The Mail makes clear.

We can't use the whole stadium, because of their restrictions, so the top tier will be shut off. Nonetheless, Chelsea will get 50,800 supporters through the gates.

Using Twickenham would be better for us, but the poncy rugby authorities don't like the idea. At least we would be in a good place to win The FA and League Cups each year at Wembley.

That restriction probably being that you wouldn't be able to fill the seats.

The only team capable of regularly filling Wembley for run of the mill premiership games are the great Man U whose loyal fan base would not flinch at the 200 miles or so trip every other week and we would even allow our loyal cockney supporters a few seats to make up for them not having any decent southern teams to support.

Surely the home counties are nearer to Wembley than old trafford,so yes they probably could fill it.

We're a national treasure there to be enjoyed by everyone!

So how come that Celtic are the only British club to be named in the top 10 of the greatest supports in world football, according to the respected French football magazine So Foot.

'So Foot' says only Boca Juniors of Argentina and Germany's Borussia Dortmund are ahead of the Glasgow club's fans, who are renowned throughout Europe for their passionate support, sense of fair play and respect for opposition clubs.

Celtic Park has received numerous compliments for its unique atmosphere from various superstars in world football with Andres Iniesta of Barcelona recently describing Celtic fans as the best in the world.

Celtic cannot even fill there own ground whereas Man U are the best supported UK club and have the third best average attendance in Europe for last season this despite it being yet again a not very good season this leaves Celtic very firmly in their wake.

Anyway this is a premiership football thread I started a thread for you fifth rate Scottish supporters, so do one.

Are they known across Glagow for their embrace of all things British? They do quite well in generating fines for their "sense of fair play and respect for opposition "
