Can the non Westminster part of London come with you?

Interesting question. On its own, no, I don't think it would be enough, but sweetened with UK wide PR, Leveson enacted, and a well written constitution with legislative teeth, who knows, maybe?Question for the Scots: if the UK re-joined the EU would Scotland still hold a referendum?

I hope the SNP has revised it's defence strategy since the last referendum. We live in a much different world and selling defence as being a friendly country that doesn't need defences and is a nice neutral nuclear free zone could well lose the SNP the referendum. NATO membership with 2% defence spending and some sort of lease of Faslane [to NATO not what would be left of the UK] would be sensible in the world we live in today.
Brilliant idea. Cut off 52% (of those who voted) of potential tourism revenue from the rest of the UK. That’ll help employment and the colossal deficit. I’m sure they’d prefer to spend their money elsewhere in any case, no shortage of welcoming places to go.
Your other suggestion is one solution I suppose. Only let people vote if they agree with you.

I think he was being tongue in cheek. We are though looking at road pricing for camper vans- the ones that come over the border stacked up with provisions and don’t spend a brass farthing in the time they’re in the country.Brilliant idea. Or a mind change is obvious.Or keep asking until they do.
It strikes me that Scots are in a no win situation. Gain independence and you’ll have a country ripped down the middle (sound familiar?) with colossal problems to solve. Lose the ref and you’ll no doubt keep voting for a party (because of Westminster hatred) who will continue to prioritise independence over actually running the country and fixing drug deaths, alcoholism, education, budget deficit etc etc (not sure how these will be fixed by being independent but there you go). It’s a rhetorical issue (for 8% of the UK population) until independence finally happens at a once every decade referendum.
The growth in Iceland’s tourism industry has been meteoric in the past decade, yet capacity is still tight. The far North of Scotland is similar, the NC500 mobbed every year a lot more accommodation and services needed. A driver of economic growth.
bad faith and lies
There is irony in this as there are currently queues of people at airports wanting to get to overly hotter places and adding to the global climate problem by flying there. The map shown is an argument for stopping mass flying with immediate effect if ever there was one.
The SNP themselves are devoid of bad faith and lies - really?
Regards
Richard
You are able to say this with a straight face in a country governed by the tories?
