Part of the problem is access to the window and space behind the Ardens at present. My only worry is ensuring that the Harbeths would be secure enough where they are now. This is a temp arrangement but they work very, very well in this position. Maybe the Ardens act as a sort of PBR, though not obviously…
You’d think so but putting my hand gently on the cones of the 15” DCs and they barely vibrate at all when the P3s are up at decent levels. Is there not a ‘thing’ about unconnected speakers in a room causing problems ie the drivers still move or something like that?

Listening to some Jonathan Wilson right now and the P3s sound sublime. They are special speakers (at least in combination with the superlative Luxman). Thinking about SVS SB3000 to fill in the bottom end. But against all logic there’s good solid bass that paradoxically seems complete and super tight. Fun, this
I think I’ll gain quite a bit of space (speakers probably roughly where they’ll end up):
I bought my first pair of Harbeths (C7s) a few months ago and first used a similar pillar-type stand (Partington Dreadnoughts) and found them dead. Open framed Something Solid sound miles better to me fwiw if you see a pair around it may be worth trying
This next statement is based on unreliable memories, but I do think the P3ESR XD is as close as I've found to a box-speaker version of my much-missed ESL57s....

Low-end compression? Do tell. I’m not hearing that at all. Maybe different model/amp/room/position has an effect?P3s were the most frustrating speaker I've had. Transcendentally, sublimely brilliant at times but couldn't ignore the low end compression at others. Especially coming from bigger speakers. Really wanted to keep them but they were starting to dictate what got played.
