The best Bond? Not sure I agree.

Connery then Craig
Craig is good and modern but has just copied the Bourne films (not him, the filming)
Also agree, concentrates too much on Bond and his failings in particular too much now.

They should make all of the films (again) in book order.

certificate 15. Minimal humour, but in the vein of The Ipcress File.

A brutal Bond.

Connery. His films were the closest to the books, part of the same era. And he had the most beautiful clothes, apart from that strange one-piece shorts and top by the pool in "Goldfinger."

Check out Zardoz.

I prefer the Flemish and English Bonds
I'd be bricking it if that were me. Said he, pointedly.

I think Craig makes the best Bond in the sense of being true to Fleming's callous, brutal and somewhat unstable hero, though none of them has even attempted his snobbishness. After Craig, I'd go with Dalton, for similar reasons, though Craig is the better actor. But my favourite Bond from an entertainment perspective, is Roger Moore. It's a bit like your favourite Dr Who, it's probably the one you grew up with.

If you, like me, read the books first, then the plots and action of the Connery films are closest, but D.Craig is possibly closer to the original bond character...all he lacks is self awareness and humanity.
