We have Boris or Corbyn at the end of the day to run the country.

One relies on his stand up routine to overcome any deficiencies in his policies, cannot answer a single question without lying & has the worst record of any prime minister in history of British politics where votes in parliament are concerned & all in a few months. The other offers a ref on a Labour led deal with the EU & an offer of at least attempting to give everyone a good footing in life & to stop the punishing regime the Tory party have chiselled out over the last 9 years so it depends where your priorities lie.

‘Punishing regime’ having to get some money back after Labour left a note saying ‘There’s no money left’ ?

Depends on how the government prioritises it's policy on tackling the issue. Starting with the vulnerable, the sick & disabled in a government led propaganda regime to win over voters against these individuals just about sums up this party since the Cameron era. Boris has no plans to change it.

Neil was lost tonight, he';s so used to interviewing people who don't answer, just lie, or are total planks ala Liz Truss, he just ended up riffing Andrew Neil's greatest hits and forgot there was actually someone else there he was meant to be questioning. he was visibly angry that his questions actually received answers so continually interrupted them. Nothing to do with political bias, although his entire economic outlook is cringe inducingly out of date, just Neil falling for his own hype. If he pulls the same trick next week it will be Neil talking for 90% of the show and Johnson never managing more than err err err err err err err err between Neil's diatribe.

Momentum and other 'far Left' types are constantly telling Brexit voters that they're a bunch of racists, or even Neo Nazis, how ironic for them to be accused of the one thing that they define themselves against.

Yes it's ironic but that doesn't make it true.

Fun watching them squirm though as their holier than thou attitudes are put under the spotilight and are found to be less than desireable.

This is the kind of thing I'm talking about. Hard to believe that the thought of Jews being scared isn't feeding Mike's glee here, .

Well Sean... thats one of the best " twisting what he said to make my point " posts on here in days ...well done.

From Brexiteers being called racists by the Left to Frankie is a jew hater in three posts.

( unless I have misread your post ? )

Laughs. With Johnson constantly lying through his teeth, avoiding scrutiny, suppressing reports - "not answering a straight question" yeah, that's a real problem.

So..Corbyn is good compared to Johnson ?

That fills me with a lot of hope for the future .

I agree with that entirely. I believe Corbyn to be a decent enough bloke with some good ideas, and likely a very good constituency MP, but he has absolutely failed to rise to the position of party leadership. His only conceivable advantage is the Tories are clearly a heck of a lot worse from any logical perspective. There is just no way in hell they should be heading for a parliamentary majority, but Corbyn’s failure will likely gift it to them.

Tony - do you (& others here) really think the Tories are likely to achieve an outright majority ? I just don’t see it.

I think December 12 will spring many surprises, but a parliamentary majority for any party is very unlikely to be one of them...

He's not just "good", he's a saint compared to most people.

-Who was appointed a member of a district health authority in early 1974, at the age of 24.

-As a delegate from Hornsey to the Labour Party conference in 1978, successfully moved a motion calling for dentists to be employed by the NHS rather than private contractors.

-Who was a campaigner against apartheid in South Africa, serving on the National Executive of the Anti-Apartheid Movement, and was arrested in 1984 while demonstrating outside South Africa House.

-Was an opponent of the brutal dictator Pinochet (an ally of the British government under Thatcher) and was a leading campaigner in the quest to bring him to justice.

-A man who in October 2001, was elected to the steering committee of the Stop the War Coalition, which was formed to oppose the Afghanistan War which started later that year.

-Who was vehemently opposed to the Iraq War in 2003, and spoke at dozens of anti-war rallies in Britain and overseas. Who helped organise the February anti-Iraq War protest which was claimed to be the largest such protest in British political history.
-Someone for who opposing violence and war has been "the whole purpose of his life".

-Who prominently opposed the invasion of Iraq and war in Afghanistan, NATO-led military intervention in Libya, military strikes against Assad's Syria, and military action against ISIS, and served as the chair of the Stop The War Coalition.

-Someone who is a member of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, campaigning against conflict in Gaza and what the organisation considers to be apartheid in Israel

Hopefully we will also get to see BJ likewise squirming under pressure. But it's unlikely to be on AS.

Er, no. It's about the closer people are in some ways, the worse falling-outs can become, sort of like how arguments within families can be far worse than arguments with strangers.
In the same way Civil Wars are so vicious and sectarian murders between members of the same religion with (to the outside observer) minor doctrinal differences. Catholics
and Protestants in N. Ireland or Suni and Shia.
