I don't need to be proud. It's my opinion.

She deserves criticism. Outrageous racist comments, dumb interviews, sending her own kid to private school etc

Support her if you like but I can't stand her bigotry.

Don't expect pages of discussion either. You may love her, that's your opinion. I don't. End of.
I don't understand your 'outrageous racism' comment. Are you talking about your's or her's? If the latter can you substantiate?

Davis must not be allowed to resign. The twat has a can to carry. I'm pretty sure half of them desperately want to be sacked or find a reason to resign rather than face the reality of the mess they have made.
He's looking for an 'honourable' way out? From his own publicity shots, he's a self professed breast man- who's now coming out in sympathy with fellow traveller (but not in the Brexit way) Green. It's going to be very funny when someone leaks the browsing history from his Westminster computer. The activity log in conjunction with his official diary should nail it decisively.

Dec, it's a far-right trope. Abbott once made a comment in a Twitter exchange with another black activist about how white people have always liked to "divide and rule" blacks. Historically that may well be true but it was a misjudgement to make such a broad generalisation in that context. Abbott apologised for the remark but the far-right (who, as you know are extremely concerned about racism) have followed her around with it ever since and used it to deflect from the torrent of vile racist and sexist abuse she receives.

I think there is another equally tenuous example of Abbott saying something dodgy but I can't remember what it is now. Maybe one of the forum's INARBs will remind me.

The racial abuse Diane Abbott has to face on a daily basis just beggars belief, the dignified way she handles it has raised her in my expectation hugely, as has reading up on her back-story. A black woman from a non-wealthy background getting to Cambridge is a real achievement in this society by any standards, to get there in 1970 was amazing. People forget that.

In case people think that Green was knocking one out to porn I suggest you look up section 63 of the relevant act that the both coppers say the porn Green was viewing would have fallen under had it been just a few weeks later.

"in an explicit and realistic way" any of the following:

  • An act threatening a person's life
  • An act which results (or is likely to result) in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts or genitals
  • An act which involves (or appears to involve) sexual interference with a human corpse
  • A person performing (or appearing to perform) an act of intercourse (or oral sex) with an animal (whether dead or alive)
and a reasonable person looking at the image would think that any such person (or animal) was real.

Another blow for Saint Theresa:

Summary: her social mobility advisors don't believe May is capable of building a fairer Britain.

Frankly, I'm amazed it took them so long to figure that out.

I won't be losing any sleep over the quitting of Milburn. He's just another Tory Lite opportunist spiv. He has form. He's the lying twat who used false 'evidence' and his personal agenda to launch a Mick P style attack on my profession and the organisation I worked for. You don't really think May would have used him if she thought he actually had any principles.. do you?

The Trump-Brexit church is anti-social mobility. Powerful figures within the lame duck Prime Minister's party are openly calling for a deregulated sweat shop Britain and they're going to pull the ladder up from the pit.

I've no time for Milburn either but he was providing ideological cover for Tory lies about building a fairer Britain so the fact he's resigned can only damage them. This is a good thing.

Well yes.. I suppose so, though like much of this stuff I suppose it will be barely noticed by most. If the general voting public still don't grasp the deeply reactionary 'reverse social engineering' and wholesale theft of social assets beng perpetrated under their very noses... they're not likely to be bothered about a relative 'sideshow'.

Yup. I'm beginning to feel like a frog who has realised he's being boiled, but who can't reach the edge of the pot.

Labour extends polling lead to 8 points over the Conservatives

And yet the forthcoming demise remains, er, forthcoming:)
I suspect the Tory party is, either, like Monty Python's Black Knight (impossible to kill), or, a dinosaur which just hasn't yet realised it is dead. I'm hoping for the latter, but fear it may be the former.

istm the demise is clearly occurring! Granted at this time it is appropriate for the average tory to be deploying blind optimism ;-)

Its interesting even amusing to observe political or personal bias at work but for balance it should be noted that Gillian Shepherd a staunch Tory has resigned along with Milburn.

Who in all honesty I thought was a one eyed cricketer or a relative of a long departed footballer with the christian name of "Wor"
