Hi,
Just thought I would give a shout out for Audiolab Service. I dealt with Steve Hughes who was a great guy and very knowledgeable.
I had the Disc reading problem and also thought I had a channel unbalance. Sent it to Steve and he said when he opened it up it smelt like cat pee as the...
I have the 8200CDQ biamped using 2 8200P's. I thought the ideal connection was to use one 8200P for both right and left tweeters and one 8200P for the Bass\Mid Range left and right. To actually drive a single speker you would need the 8200M for each speaker.
I am also intrigued by John's reply...
It is difficult to answer. I have the CDQ connected to 2 8200P power amps and to Tannoy DC6T SE and play normal CD's which sound really great and I usually play 24 Bit music from the Laptop which also sound great. I have not ripped a good quality CD to FLAC (16 Bit) and then tried to compare the...
I hve been using the USB connection to my laptop and find that the B plug into the 8200CDQ is very loose and does not push in right down to the shoulder of the connector. It seems so loose that I can move it around and it breaks up the sound. If I leave I do seem to get a constant stream with no...
I have had one of these for about 12 months now and I can hear it hum when all is quiet. Is this normal, do other owners have the same niggle or do I have a faulty transformer.
Thanks
Thanks CST, I will try that.
Yes I guess it must be vertical bi-amping, each 8200P amp feeding a single speaker. I believe this is how mono bloc's are connected and is supposedly superior by isolating each channel to each amp to a single speaker.
I have 2 Audiolab power amps Bi-Wired with one amp driving the Bass Units and the second amp driving the mid range and tweeters, which I believe is the conventional method. Monoblocs actually connect to each speaker separately and thus avoiding any cross-talk etc. If I were to take my...
I had exactly the same problem and after speaking to Tech Support they arranged for my dealer to swap it out immediately. Mine was the CDQ but sounds like the same problem.
New one was perfect, it is a fabulous player.
I have the SYNOLOGY DS211+ plugged directly into the USB port of the CDQ. The Synology automatically powers down when it is not being used. I fire up my laptop and connect to the router with wireless. I just fire up the web browser and login to the Synology, start the Audio Station, select the...
Hi Guys
A lot of people seem to be asking about amplification and speakers for the 8200CDQ.
I started off with the CDQ into a Roksan Kandy MKIII using Chord Cobra III interconnects and had Quad 22L2 speakers and the detail was amazing after my Marantz. I then tried my old Audiolab 8000S in power...
I have ordered a couple of these and will let you know what I think of them.
As an aside will this reduce the hiss I can hear from the tweeter that I can hear from about 12 inches away.
