What a great band they were.

    Shahinian Compass / Speaker Isolation

Hi, I use the primacoustic things under my Compasses on a suspended wooden floor for some weeks now. I am not sure yet. They deliver tremendous presence, clarity and dynamics. Make the music jump at you. While this is welcome for some (darker) recordings, it is a bit too much fĆ¼r already bright...

    Discogs

I did this once when I was not sure. Found some minor issues I had not mentioned and told the potential buyer so. I offered a price reduction, but he wanted to look for a better copy. He gave me top feedback.

    Discogs

Started selling on discogs earlier this year having a clear out. So not a professional dealer here. But having sold 200+ LPs on ebay about ten years ago with 100% positive feedback I think I know what I am doing (to some degree at least). The records are play graded and I give a description...

Hawkwind: Space Ritual 50th Anniversary remix.

This! It sounds great, it looks great. I do not need anything more.

    The longest most boring song?

Yes, LZ have been mentioned. But not for the live recordings with extensive guitar an drum solos I have been referring to. They have been mentioned for relatively short studio tracks, that were boring per se. And where I live there are no pub blues bands, not to speak of ones influenced by the...

    The longest most boring song?

Sorry, could not resist to do a threadcrap. One of the longest, but anything else than boring songs (?) is Sister Ray by the Velvet Underground. It deserves all of its 17 minutes. I just listened to it and had to come back to this thread. Great! I much prefer their second LP to their first.

    Shahinian Compass / Speaker Isolation

Thanks, I saw your picture in this other thread. https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/iso-pucks-under-heavy-speakers-anyone-using-these.279183/#post-4978118 So, you use them directly under the speaker cabinet avoiding the feet (or are these supposed to be spikes)? Looks good, but not...

    Shahinian Compass / Speaker Isolation

A lump hammer? šŸ˜Æ Johnacurtis used mole grips. A slightly more civilised approach maybe. But not so much difference in the results possibly. But in case I go for the iso-pucks I will have to remove the feet anyway. Will do some more research.

Ok, I suppose this intervention is irreversible? The feet will probably be damaged.

    Shahinian Compass / Speaker Isolation

Thanks, I hope they work for you. Unfortunately, not applicable to my speakers, as these things have to be screwed in. Not possible with the Compasses. I am aware that this can be solved (as johnacurtis has done), but I would prefer to avoid this type of intervention.

    Shahinian Compass / Speaker Isolation

Thanks for that, hifinutt. Sounds good to me. I would like to avoid fidddling with the Shahinian feet. So you recommend the iso puck on a suspended wood floor under the plastic feet? I also read the addis pads thread. Surely interesting, but probably not applicable for the Shahinians. If I got...

    Shahinian Compass / Speaker Isolation

Hi John, how did you remove the plastic feet from the Compasses? I do not think they are screwed. Could they be glued? I once had a similar problem as you. One of the feet was kind of loose. My dealer fixed this while doing a tweeter upgrade. So everything is tight now and I do not want to do...

    The longest most boring song?

I own and love this record since 1970. And yes, it does take some real dedication to get through. I very rarely listen to the whole thing. It is one of these too many long guitar/drum solo live recordings of the late sixties I mentioned in my post above. But this is also something else. The...

    The longest most boring song?

I agree with Tony, that Desolation Row may be one of Dylan's best tracks. I am surprised that almost none of the long guitar jams with drum solos of the late sixties/early seventies have been mentioned. In A Gadda Da Vida anyone? Demographics maybe? Boomer here. Has this forum been taken over...
