I have to agree with the OP though. 'A Town Called Panic' is one of the few films that has actually had me gasping for breath

Cheers :)

I was beginning to think that I am the only person who has seen Panic Au Village.

It is rather special.

As stated at the start, a person’s sense of humour is such an unique thing.

My kids have developed a sense of humour that can be impenetrable, and they can still be set off into paroxysms of laughter by the most banal thing. Beautiful to watch. Their children are developing a sense of humour that is even more distorted, I can joke with my grandchildren about setting babies on fire and they get it. All about context.

well i laughed a lot at this recently, but not entirely sure if it fits the op's starter Ottway the movie

Couldn't name just three, but any of these are worth a watch:
Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, in fact all of the comedy films written by and starring my old school mate Simon Pegg are quite amusing
Monty Python
The Ealing Comedies are classics
It probably won't go down well on here as they aren't politically correct, but the Carry On films are great - some very clever dialogue in there.
Some of the Steve Martin ones are great.
Some more obscure ones:
Whoops Apocalypse - Peter Cook, Alexei Sayle, Loretta Swit, Rik Mayall, Michael Richards, Richard Wilson, John Sessions, Ian Richardson, among others. Very silly, but very good
Malcolm - Brilliant obscure Australian film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malcolm_(film)
Mr Reliable (sometimes called 'My Entire Life'), same main star (Colin Friels) and Director (Nadia Tass) as 'Malcolm' - based on a true story about an accidental siege.
Plus a few from The Comic Strip - Mr Jolly Lives Next Door (Peter Cook, Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Nicholas Parsons) and The Supergrass are the best.

When I was awake at 03:00 hrs. this film popped into my head.

I think I shall have to order a copy on dvd, it will always be funny.

A Private Function (1984)

“No Pig, No Pig...”

Liz Smith is one of many fantastic actors in this solid classic. Michael Palin in his element.

It has a wonderful insight into the British class system at the same time as making me pee my pants.

I am so going to have to trawl this thread for some much needed good cheer.

Few from me:

The Man who knew too little.
All of Me
Sleeper
In Bruges
The Phantom of Liberty

Monte Carlo or Bust! (1969)

and

Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines (1965)

are two films that as a child would crack me up.

Nowadays they are more of historical interest than in anyway being funny, apart from the custard pie fight at the end of Monte Carlo or Bust!

Terry-Thomas, what a bloke. Died of a really nasty disease.

His turn in 'It's a mad, mad, mad, world' is just wonderful. Best bit of the film.

Really enjoyed Spy with Melissa McCarthy really for Jason statham had me in stitches. Preferred Dumb and Dummer 2 to be honest for laughs. My final choice would be planes trains and automobiles from my Uni days. The airport scene is just the best.
