Naim 500 series.
Audiolab 4000 & 8000.
Some Kef speakers in the mid 90s - dull and muddy.
Linn Kans.
For me they were just 'shouty'. I have never been able to understand why people rave about them. I guess they are 'Marmite' speakers.
Having said that, I've never liked any of the Linn speakers (barring Saras which I have never heard).
You are excluding Saras just because you havent heard them?
Harbeth speakers - boring beyond belief.
Spendor - even boringer.
Linn - boring.
Magicos sounded silky smooth at the end of a Devialet Premier...
Generally when you first encounter an unfamiliar system, the only thing you 'hear' is gross room/loudspeaker errors.
Yeahbut isn't 'silky smooth' the same as boring ? Or is that what you mean ?
If you can't hear what kans do well, your in the wrong hobby.
