Mal Waldron - What It Is. 1981 Japanese promo issue.
An amazing group - Clifford Jordan, Cecil McBee and Dannie Richmond - but for some reason it never quite hits the spot in the way my favourite Mal records do. The wonderful Snake Out blog lists it as essential so what do I know : )

Hank Mobley – Reach Out!. Crackly 1968 US issue.
I'm quite fond of this record even though it's universally agreed to be Hank Mobley's worst.
It's not a very good Hank Mobley record but it's not a bad late 60s poppy jazz record.
