Standout this evening was an ‘illegal’ cd someone gifted me I’d long forgotten about. Steve Earle - live at the blue cafe. Some soft-headed lyrics but stunning high fidelity.

I’m not sure whether this cover is laziness or genius. Lp should survive just because their size allows their art not to be ignored so easily.

Me neither, and I feel the same about Pat Metheny. Both technically excellent, but musically bankrupt and boring. After trying for 35+ years, I'd love to be proven wrong (cite an example, please).
