USB to SPDIF converters - any good / bad experiences or recommendations?

Indeed. I gave the Mutec now too, excellent and a relative bargain..
I just pulled out of storage an Empirical Audio Offramp-4 with Dynamo (Hynes) power supply which I bought 10 years ago.
The offramp 4 had all of the clock/ regulator options installed and at one point was sent back for an additional upgrade. The cost of the offramp with upgrades was $2100 and the Dynamo was another $800 (in 2012).
I had not been using these in the interests of keeping the system simpler. I was about to advertise them for sale but thought I better check that they still work with modern computers.
Holy sh!t, they sound incredible! Not going anywhere
