Decided that my car (Skoda Octavia) which is now on 87K miles and 9 years old is OK to service myself rather than keep taking it into the dealer every year. The end of the FDSH...
Was surprisingly easy and quick. Oil and filter change, air filter, cabin filter. The sparkplugs were probably the worst bit trying to get the coilpacks out, but all OK with the proper tool and some heaving.
It's still running. And a whole lot cheaper than Skoda prices.
Then did the wife's Jazz (been DIYing that for years) - oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter. Polished the headlights.
Checked all the brakes, lights, greased hinges, tyre pressures, brake fluid hygrometer, reset the service counters etc.
Then sat in the sun in the garden and had a cold beer.
And got a little sunburnt.
