Nice looking watch.
Possibly weird question Baz - don't all the bits go in a tray or something? That would terrify me - one sneeze and it would be game over!
I only lay all the parts out for customer as I said I'd take lots of photos for him, the parts stay safe and sound in one of these trays and once the new spring
turn up I'll wash all the parts ready for reassemble.
Yes - I have to think Seiko will not - for the price - have the consistency of more expensive movements.
In particular, looking at my 6R15C balance spring at rest, the coil spacing uniformity looks too far off for the centre of mass to stay in one place - let alone be coincident with the balance staff. Nevertheless, my 6R15C is in a SARB035 too and I still really like it.
And BTW that 281 degree amplitude on your timing machine is great and more than I have seen reported before for a Seiko movement. By eye mine looks more like 215 degrees dial down.
Your right 281 is pretty high but the watch is brand new, I serviced a Seiko 7009A movement at University the other day and that was only around 245 ish but its was an old one
and not in great shape to be fair
