I have recently got back in to my hifi with the purchase of a pair of cheviots.
Another a purchase of some much nicer cabinets and upgraded crossovers too and they are sounding lovely.
However, I'm thinking that my naim 62/140 may not be the best match for the cheviot and it has got me looking at different amps.
I have tried a world audio kel84 valve amp but it just didnt have the guts and seemed underpowered and lacking detail. The naim kit sounded so much better but it got me thinking about maybe classic japanese amps like the pioneer sa1000 or rotels etc may be worth investigating.
Has anybody got any recommendations on which classic amps would be the ones to look out for - seems to be a lot out there, or any other suitable amps that would be worth a look.
Dont want to spend a fortune - £500 would be good but could go to £1000 for something thats going to blow my socks off
All advice appreciated
