When I saw it in your boot something made me want it. Bought on a whim but loving it.

I think that’s the strangest yet most cheering reply I have ever had to a post. I’ll bear your request in mind and at the same time throw it out to everyone else!

PS My boots are still wet after mowing the lawn but ‘Michigan’ is great too.

It includes a particularly chilling track about John Wayne Gacy - the light, almost dreamy, quality of the track contrasting strongly with the subject matter - delicious .

I've switched my stylus hair to a single strand of Belgian lambswool and found it improves imaging depth.

It is, although the amp's an 8vs.

For some time I'd had a nagging fascination with Cyrus kit, mainly because it comes across as a real Marmite product. Anyway, one evening (after a bottle and a half of Medoc) I bought the amp off eBay...and sod the buyer's remorse in the morning And you know what? It was/is really good, much to my pleasant surprise. The PSX-R adds a decent degree of weight to the overall sound (although it's good to start with) and never at any point do I feel the set-up is adding any character of its own, it just gets out of the way. Owned it for nigh on 3 years now.

Cool. As you may know I owned an 8vs2 plus PSX-R's (had one for the cdp too) for some years and liked them very much.

I then changed to a Hegel and it was lovely.

I now use a Class D amp. Each time I changed a healthy dose of musicality was added, something that was a little missing from the cyrus though I didn't really notice in isolation. My guess is the 8vs (non v2) may be a little better in this regard.

I did love the the look of all those cyrus boxes. They are supremely well made and solid plus the small form factor is fantastic. I still think it's one of the best looking designs, others disagree.

About 18 months back, I was very close to buying the Cyrus DAC XP+ & Mono X300's as the Cyrus 2 is where the buying/selling fun began for me back in my uni days. Always loved the styling and there dogmatic philosophy about system building.
