I'm not, as a rule, a fan of guitar solos; but Adrian Belew's on Bowie's Boys Keeep Swinging, and Talking Heads' The Great Curve are works of feckin genius.
We could add Chuck Berry, but we'd have to forgive him for My ding-a-ling first..
I tend to agree regarding a lot of solos, hence my inclusion of Geordie Walker, an amazing guitar sound and not a solo in sight
Maybe I can help. Where did you last see them?
I've heard nothing the HLL did outside Hawkwind but he only ever seemed to have one guitar solo with them.
I tend to think the same overall re. solos but Jan Akkerman and Capt Sensible deserve a mention as being melodic without being too erm, indulgent (apologies if they have been mentioned).I'm not, as a rule, a fan of guitar solos; but Adrian Belew's on Bowie's Boys Keeep Swinging, and Talking Heads' The Great Curve are works of feckin genius.
