I tend to agree regarding a lot of solos, hence my inclusion of Geordie Walker, an amazing guitar sound and not a solo in sight

Amazing sound, no solos... in an attempt to tie threads together, this could be the place to mention John McKay.

Yup, but it worked as did his noodling, it fitted the vibe, and that is what counts.

I tend to think the same overall re. solos but Jan Akkerman and Capt Sensible deserve a mention as being melodic without being too erm, indulgent (apologies if they have been mentioned).
