FWIW For decades I've continued to use small plastic brushes that were supplied along with tiny 'sqee-gee' plastic bottles of stylus cleaner back in the day. However for most of the time the liquid I've used is from a bottle of ethanol I got from stores in the 1980s. All my V15's seem to have survived this quite well and stay clean.
Health warning: The safety of the above depends on factors like how your stylus is attached to the cantilever! If it is glued on, then some liquids might weaken or dissolve the glue! Experience shows OK for the V15s,* but may not suit other designs*
