I like Mike Trim's original idea for the S.H.A.D.O. Interceptor which looked a lot more thuggish than the one that got made for the series:

The toy from the series had that lethal rocket on the front that could take a kids head off! Or an eye. There's no way that would pass today's safety standards. Kids are missing out. I think.

Quaitermass and the Pit was the scariest thing I ever saw as a kid. Definitely a hide behind the settee, sleep with all the lights on job.
