It sometimes seems that he's daring people to vote for him, and deliberately pushing through all boundaries of what used to be considered as common decency. He has debased political discourse to such an extent that this is now regarded as acceptable. It appears that a substantial portion of the USA hgas been waiting for a Trump, someone who talks like them, who shares all their prejudices, who is totally lacking in all the things they hate about the coastal "elites" - none of this hifalutin talk about Constitutions and rules of law - even a substantial chunk of the Supreme Court no longer believes in these things.
