Cambridge Audio - on the Edge

My first foray in to a 'proper' system was a Cambridge 350A/C combination, then the 840A/C. Really competent kit, though both sounding more hifi than musical IME, to use those overused terms. Has their later kit changed form that type of voicing?

I can understand Cambridge making a
pitch in at this price level.

Here is a gap in the market between the likes of the budget Yamaha AS-500 and a five figure set up like a Naim 282 250dr et psus.

I like both these amps, so if Cambridge can contend somewhere in the middle at 4 figures then good luck to them.

I like the look and concept, but the full package is too expensive for me, maybe once/if there is a Mk II or they flop, they will drop to more usual RS prices?

I'd be keen to hear in a proper environment, but unfortunately few RS shops can offer that sort of exeperience

Thats the problem, who's going to listen to these, old kit in new boxes for a big ticket.
