I have the Solti in the 1997 remastered version - the quality is excellent - I pretended to join a record club in order to get the complete set for a tenner. I also have the Decca Wagner complete great operas set from Bayreuth, the ring recordings (Bohm) are good but not up to the solti set. It was good value at £35 for 33 discs though. The Keilberth Gotterdammerung didn`t bother me for noise but I thought showed its age , though good for 1955.
In the end I always come back to Solti.
