Like when the Quad FM4 had 6 presets and nobody had any idea what the other 5 could possibly be for.OK, so my NAT05 is set up for R3, but obviously has a preset for R4, and presets for other. er, lesserstations.

Hard to describe quite why and how this experiment is holding up so well. What is certain is that is works
consistently at a technical level:
Finally pressing a single button, then sitting down with a drink in the evening and letting somebody else bear the burden of choice is a pleasure. Most days that lasts at least for the half hour that it takes for the Sugden to warm up, sometimes it endures right through to bedtime.
consistently at a technical level:
- the Radio 3 stream has held up non stop since the start of the year
- The pi and iq DAC plus combo is effective rendering the stream with no perceptible gaps or interference
- the pass through function on the power bank has kept the pi powered and prevented shutdowns caused by a supply interruption and
- I don’t feel that more expensive kit could wring more performance from the best Radio 3 stream.
