Got four tickets for the Burnley game so attended with my wife and our two boys, 12 and 8. Their first game and lots of fun to see the event through their eyes. A decent performance against a team seemingly more interested in playing rugby. It looks like Elliot will break through properly this season and plenty of other excellent performances (notably Matip and Henderson) The strength of our subs bench gives me real hope that we can go all the way again this season.

A largely undeserved win for us against Sheffield United, always nice to get a stoppage time decider. I still think we will struggle this season but definitely a better start than I expected.

I do wonder how SU will fare this year, probably won’t be a bounce back up?

Tranmere's first defeat of the season, lots of possession and half chances but made to pay for their misses by Newport taking one of only a couple they had - that's footie

Watching Chelsea today I don’t think they got out of 2nd gear. It’ll be a different story next week at Anfield.

Regards,

Martin

Examples not shown on MOTD or recognised by the pundits. I was at the game and these are only the most egregious. Not a single yellow card shown to Burnley. Shocking refereeing.

Liverpool player obstructing the challenging player with no intent to play the ball, Burnley player had every right to throw him out of the way. Verdict - good referring.

Liverpool player obstructing the defenders attempt to make a covering run, defender has the right to knock him out of the way. Verdict - great refereeing.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58300075 - Ole moaning now, just sore because he could only manage a draw.

I've not heard Pep or Tuchel complaining. It's a non issue - football is meant to be a physical game.

Utter bollocks and you know it. Careful what you wish for.
