    Tony Joe White

He did. It's on 'Closer To The Truth'. For anyone curious enough, check out 'Homemade Ice Cream', there's not a bad song on it and the Analogue Productions' cut is superb. Apparently Chad Kassem wanted to reissue this one not for thoughts of financial recompense, but purely because he loved the...

    Epos ES14 Grilles

My brother recently acquired a pair and they had a pair of sculpted foam covers with them, although they were disintegrating a bit like my old Sara ones did. They had a recess on the back for the tweeters. Not sure where you'd get a replacement pair though.

Mario Biondi track is driving me mad.

According to Discogs, it's a Bernard Butler/Jonathan Jeremiah composition: http://www.discogs.com/Mario-Biondi-Beyond/release/7846203 Jonathan Jeremiah did his version on a 2009 album and he has a great soulful voice, maybe not in a Tom Jones stylee but resonant nonetheless. Saw Mario last...

    Stillpoints under LP12

Yeah, I tried the original Stillpoints under my LP12 which has a Urika, so can't get around the Trampolin even if I wanted to. The Stillpoints brought some plus points but took something away, too. So I decided to put the LP12 onto a 10mm peice of glass which sits on top of the Stillpoints...

Vinyl Record With Dual Speeds 33 & 45rpm?

Classic Records did a few comparison 12"s with the same songs on both sides, one side cut at 33 and the reverse cut at 45.

    Sonos Play 1 speakers

    Ooh. That's tempting.....

Are all Rhino releases amazing SQ?

I have JM's 'Blue' remastered by Hoffman/Gray, the first 4 Tom Waits albums (the second re-remastered tranche on red vinyl) reissues remastered by Chris Bellman, and the early Talking Heads reissues done by a mix of the above. SQ is superb and the price is real vfm. One day people will consider...

    He almost cut his hair.

Record store for sale on ebay for £300k

I was in there briefly last Friday and it feels a bit musty in there. There's probably some of what I'm after, but it'd take some sifting through all the tut. The other record shop which was more concise but more expensive has gone, replaced by a nails boutique type place. Some very good bars...

"The Sun" properly classified at last by the BBC

Entertainment for sure and perhaps the arts of looking utterly innocent and grossssssly hard done by? I like Brooks' penchant of prim dressing for this case.

    Greatest Loss to Music

On the premise that the artist would more than likely to have gone on to do greater things, rather than was already looking at the downward slope of artistic inspiration, Buddy H, Coltrane, Hendrix, Otis, Duane Allman. Can't decide if Lowell George would fit into this category. Probably he...

Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time Tour

No, they did do 'Assault' and the whole of Warrior, in the album order, it's just that they didn't kick off with it. They did 15-20 mins of assorted tunes before that great bass line kicked in. Went to see Shpongle last night and there were more hippies and spacey vibes there.

Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time Tour

I went to the gig in Shepherds Bush recently with great anticipation of hearing the opening bass line to Assault & Battery to commence the evening. Was somewhat underwhelmed when that didn't happen. They played a few collected bits and pieces before they started on Warrior. Very odd in that the...

The Good Guys: Seller Feedback (Part III)

One very happy recipient of Olan's (htm 1968) NAC52. Superbly packaged and speedy despatch. Thanks for giving me time to get finances in place. Banks? Don't you just love them? Ah right, maybe not. Once again, thanks very much.
