I have an OC9XSH on a 1200G in an Ortofon SH-4 shell. Works great and very happy with the performance. Previously had the OC9II in there but had a little accident with that cart... But that cart also played very nice with the 1200G.
I kinda did the same thing; downsized the number of boxes a few years ago. I'm very pleased with my Yamaha A-S3000 so I would recommend the A-S3200 which is the replacement model. With that budget you can spare a bit of pocket money to buy more music :-)
I broke my AT-OC9/III a few months ago and replaced it with the AT-OC9XSH. I would have gone for the XSL but it was not in stock at that time.
The difference between the III and the XSH is very subtle to my ears. It is difficult to define the differences since I need to rely on memory for the...
I use the products of Vinyl Storage Solutions, a Canadian company. They do have a reseller in the UK who also ships to the rest of Europe.
The inner sleeves I use are these: 12 inch 3 mil rice paper inner sleeves - 25 pieces – Vinyl Storage Solutions
They have great outer sleeves as well.
Highly...
The SBT represents excellent value for the money. Archimango, a Squeezebox forum member, did many tests and measurements on this little device. Here's one of them: Archimago's Musings: MEASUREMENTS: Logitech Squeezebox Touch. [Updated 2013-06-22]
You can just skip the technical details in the...
I used to have an OC9/III but had a little accident with it last week. Due to lack of inventory at my local audio store I replaced it with the OC9XSH.
Going from memory, there isn't much difference in sound quality. I recognize the OC9/III sound signature in the XSH. Of coarse it hasn't got a...
I guess so. I'm using an AT OC9 III in a Technics SL-1200 MKII and it works just fine. Love the OC9 cart by the way.
The GR will not be that different to an MKII in regards to carts and mounting carts.
The scanner log file in LMS will tell if there were any issues scanning your library. It will also tell you on what files it has issue. That's the first place to check.
Two questions come to mind:
1) do your WAV files have tags in them?
If the do, then there are several converters out there who will pick those up and transfer them to the destination format. Foobar is one of them.
Otherwise it is possible to create a conversion template in Foobar from the...
You might want to post your question in the piCorePlayer thrad over on the Squeezebox forum. The piCore developpers are all there: ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0 (slimdevices.com)
I use CD sleeves from Space-Saving Sleeves | Space-Saving Sleeves and store them in the Ikea Gnedby CD racks. Removing the jewel cases saves a ton of storage space. The jewel cases all go to thrift stores.
Here's mine: a streamer based on piCorePlayer. It uses an Allo Kali reclocker and a Allo Piano 2.1 DAC hat. The streamer has two linear power supplies: one for the digital boards and the 7 inch display and a second one for the DAC hat. I built the enclosure out of 6 mm beech plywood which I had...
I also bought my A-S3000 secondhand. I watched some reputable dedicated sites / forums and found mine on a secondhand hifi website in Holland.
As it turns out, there is another one listed (together with the CD-S3000 CD player): Yamaha CD-S3000 + A-S3000 - Tweedehands - HiFi.nl When I bought...
My Focal's are also 8 ohm.
My shelves are glass shelves. These "conduct" heat a bit better than wood. The amp sits on two 6 mm glass shelves (12 mm in total) while the shelve about the amp is a 6 mm glass shelve. The shelves don't run across the whole depth of the rack either. So in the back...
