If your willing to pay Linn's absurd prices in the first place, I don't suppose 8.5% matters much either way. Having a look at some of the RRP's of Majilk gear :o:D They really are having a laugh.

It's a great DAC, unbeatable VFM. Gives maybe 70% of Hugo performance. Side by side, Hugo's clearly better as it should be :) Just depends if your willing to pay the extra grand for that difference...

They share the same pre-amp, and sound. Elex-R has good bit more power, bigger and substantial sounding. Can pick up Brio's for 350 on ebay - pretty hard to beat vfm wise.

Good luck to Linn trying to sell these 10K speakers with cloth wrapped round them, to these people. :p Sonos is a few 100 quid.

There's a brand new Arcam irdac 2 imminent for 500 quid that now seems to feature a preamp.

A good preamp is still better than any digital one, although the Hugo's is amazing for the money. Linn stopped making pre-amps some time ago...but still many find that adding a modest second hand preamp improves there DS range.

How does it sound? They seem to have gotten rid of all that old stock now :rolleyes:

:D Most have said the internal Aries Mini DAC, sounds exactly like a few 100 quid ESS Sabre dac should sound = shit.

Seem to be a lot of heavy discounts being applied to this Heed gear lately.

Neat solution, and they do take a lot of the hassle out of the whole streaming carry on. It's Linn though, so there over priced to hell and back :) I've tried my 2qute DAC with 4 different PC's/laptops a Raspberry PI, everyone produces different results. Pi the worst by quite some margin...

Nice...thought they it doesn't seem there developing for Android in the future. Were you able to set it up without an Ipad?

Lot of our American cousins are having a helluva bother with it over on ComputerAudiophile. It being Apple driven only, makes it a non starter for me - apparently you can't even set it up without an ipad/phone?

The K2 integrated is commonly on fleabay for 400. 800 for the pair is probably the going rate rather then the bargain their touting.

WHF didn't like it. Perhaps that's why they can't give it away....
