Labour at it again... anti-Semitism... #II

Even though I am absolutely opposed to nationalism in any form and disagree with the SNP on their core belief (though I fully understand why anyone would want to sever ties with ugly Little Tory England) it is clear they outclass Labour at every level elsewhere. Better policies, better articulated, and better delivered. It is annoying how many times (actually weekly) the SNP slam-dunks the Tory PM in PMQs when the magic granddad dithers, ducks, dives and deflects. I really wish we had a party of SNP quality to vote for in England. They certainly spotlight just how hopeless Labour are at present.

Easier to present a cohesive front with a small party ? Labour and the Tories have long suffered from internal dissidents ( internal Tory politics brought us the appallingly handled EU referendum )

It is possibly worth noting that , at the moment, the SNP are delivering their policies using someone else’s credit card. It will be interesting to see how they get on were they to go for Independence.

Well, they went from 1 seat to 7.

Not exactly a glorious re-birth, but as with antisemitism, anyone blaming this long term problem on Corbyn probably has an agenda.

Re-birth my big toe, the party in Scotland is facing extinction.

You could add to the list, ‘ intolerance of and rudeness towards others ‘ based upon you behaviour on here.
That was in response to a serious question about ‘policies’. The good doctor replied with a list of the usual nonsensical tropes used to abuse anyone vaguely left which I took to be lighthearted. In such circumstances, I really don’t think it ‘rude’ of me to describe the response as ‘gibberish’ in the lighthearted manner that I did. Unless you have an agenda.

As far as ‘others’ go, I make every effort to be polite, but if I receive less than polite in return, I do reserve the right to adjust my own levels of politeness accordingly. I feel this is reasonable. If you don’t, then I suggest you use the report button rather than try to clutter up the thread with personal attacks

I mean the right wing of Labour. If they were better at politics they'd have persuaded their own members to support them, or would have done a better job of forming a new party when they split.

If Labour's hard left were better at politics they'd have persuaded the rest of Labour, and more of the electorate, to support them.

Easier to present a cohesive front with a small party ?

They have internal tensions like any PPP, but narcissistic Marxists aren't in charge of the SNP.

I’m not sure when a trope becomes a truth, but I took no offence from your reply. In fact, I expected much worse from others but I suspect they know there’s some truth in the tropes. And even if they don’t, a goodly number of the population do.

Many thanks Dr, glad you took no offence because none was intended, though I did worry a little when Vigilante Joe waded in. I did ask you a serious question about policy issues and you responded with what were biased opinions, albeit with a little barb on. Glad you took my response in the same vein.

For the sake of clarity however, I should point out that your tropey opinions are, of course, the ravings of a complete madman!

drivel

Neither are narcissistic Marxists in charge of Labour. However, small-minded nationalists, intent on making Scotland poorer are in charge of the SNP.

Scotland leaving UK still has same issue (inevitable economic harm)

Dealing with hostile media is politics 101.
If LP leadership can't cope with this they're not going to get anywhere useful at the ballot box.
You're inventing a second non-issue out of how Labour deals with an exaggerated, largely invented issue.

We'll see at the next GE, when people have to make a choice between continuing down this far-right path or whether a majority takes the option of sensible, social policies going forward, along with a chance at a second referendum on leaving the EU. People like you, helping the anti-Labour smear campaign are promoting a continuation down that far-right road.

If Labour do get caned at the next election, who will they blame, who is to blame? I will probably vote Labour myself even though I don't rate the leadership team. McDonnell's likening of the SNP to Tories is not a smart move, I don't think Labour need a 'media smeer campaign' on this form.

Nationalism does always equate with progressivism. Usually the test is around oppression and whether the nationalist approch is a reaction to that and I certainly don't think anyone could reasonably argue that the Scots are oppressed within the UK. The SNP are not Tories but they are a pro-business, centre-right party.

The Liberals used to be the "none of the above " voting choice. You could vote for them with a clear conscience ( knowing that they would never get into power ) and tell yourself that , whoever got in , it was nothing to do with you.

Labour seem to be making themselves so very unpopular that I worry that they will become that party you can vote for knowing that they won't get into power.

It would suit some of the champagne socialists on here if it were to be.

He made these comments at the Edinburgh fringe BTW, talk about knowing your audience;)
