I see where you want to take the discussion, but the answer is I voted for Leonard when I was a member of the party, however he has not impressed me. I have serious misgivings about the SNP's economics and don't want to give them any more ammunition to marginalise Labour. The statement from McDonnell is ill-conceived, high handed and anti-democratic and has driven a wedge between Scottish Labour and the rest of the party.

Many thanks. It was a genuine question. I know your feelings about all things Corbyn, and I believe you to be 'of the left'. We have argued and agreed before, just exploring the ground between us, that's all. Not quite sure what you mean about where I want to take the discussion, all I can say is that I do not have a destination in mind

I thought you were going for the old "you are not a fan of Leonard and are using any excuse to bash Corbyn" routine. Apologies. PS I see myself in the most maligned political group imaginable - the centre (well on economic policy, but towards the left on social policy). Incidentally, that's where I see the SNP, but I can't connect with their economic take on a newly independent country - too many unanswered questions.

Scottish Labour has accused the BBC of bias over its investigation into anti-semitism, leading to claims that Richard Leonard has simply copied the UK party’s attack lines on the broadcaster.
Leonard’s party, which until now has said nothing about a documentary into how racism claims were dealt with in London, has also refused to back the whistleblowers who came forward to complain about Labour.
Ephraim Borowski, director of the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities, said: "We are again disappointed, but no longer surprised, to see Jewish community concerns being dismissed."

This is what embassies do. It is their job. If there are horror stories about Brexit going around, for instance, the UK embassy in Rome may invite half a dozen journalists to lunch to give them further and more accurate information. Any embassy is in place to further the views of the government it represents.
So what? Why wouldn’t the Israeli embassy act in the interests of Israel? It’s what they do. I dare say our embassy in Tel Aviv looks after what it believes to be British interests.
